Born in Japan in 1974, Akio Harada studied oil painting but switched to quick-drying acrylics, crafting sharp masking-taped silhouettes and layered hues that blend depth with flatness.

Fatherhood shifted his once large, intense works toward playful animal figures reflecting human emotions.
