About the artist

Alessandro Paglia is an artist from Milan, Italy—a city known for design and fashion. He studied product design and worked in that field for over 10 years. During this time, he developed a strong interest in objects—specifically their shapes, materials, textures, and the stories they convey. He combines this love of design with his passion for drawing to create unique and powerful artworks.

Paglia is best known for his black-and-white drawings. His art is not just a copy of what he sees. First, he chooses an object, usually something famous from design or pop culture, like a balloon, a camera, or a soda can. Then, he changes it. He might bend it, break it, mix it with another object, or make it appear to be made of liquid. After that, he takes many photos of the new version, searching for the best image with the right lighting and shadows.

Once he finds the perfect photo, he starts drawing. He uses strong black ink pens or colored pencils with very dark pigment. He draws many lines on top of each other, building up detail little by little. This method gives his work a 3D, realistic look, with rich shadows and textures.

His subjects are often things many people know and remember from their own life. But in his drawings, they look different—like they have a new meaning. With his careful technique and creative mind, Alessandro Paglia makes everyday objects look elegant, emotional, and full of life. His art invites us to see the beauty in simple things, in a new and exciting way.
